Meet Dr Jenny

Dr Jenny Nortje has been a full-time chiropractor since graduating from the University of Johannesburg in 2004. She established her career at Meyersdal Chiropractic Clinic, becoming a well-known face in the Alberton community, before moving into her private, home practice, in May 2023:

“As a chiropractor, I am passionate about helping others achieve optimal health and wellness through non-invasive treatments. I chose to become a chiropractor because I believe in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised care to each of my patients, and I strive to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in chiropractic care. My goal, always, is to help my patients achieve lasting pain-relief, improved mobility and a better overall quality of life.”

Frequently asked questions

Here are some common questions and answers about visiting a chiropractor:

Chiropractic care is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, with an emphasis on the spine.

During your first visit, the chiropractor will typically perform a physical exam, take a health history and may also order additional diagnostic tests, such as X-rays or scans, to evaluate your condition. Based on their findings, they will develop a treatment plan that may include chiropractic adjustments, exercises and other therapies. Although chiropractic is not an invasive therapy, patients are usually required to remove certain items of clothing to enable the chiropractor to examine and treat the condition appropriately. We have gowns readily available for our patients to wear during examination and treatment.

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when performed by a licensed and trained chiropractor. However, like any healthcare treatment, there are potential risks and side effects, such as soreness, stiffness, and headaches. Your chiropractor will discuss these risks with you before beginning any treatment.
